Wii Bowling to Teach Mean/Mode/Median/Range
Thanks to the good folks at Great Western Bank (Twin Creek) and DonorsChoose.org, our classroom recently received a free Wii System. We recently used Wii Sports Bowling to learn about Mean, Mode, Median, and Range. The students loved it and were totally engaged. Here are some pictures from our lesson.
Fontenelle Forest Field Trip
On April 11, our class visited Fontenelle Forest for a field trip to learn more about plant and animal adaptations. After the lunch our class took a self-guided tour of the forest.
Lincoln, Nebraska Field Trip
On March 26, our class visited Lincoln, Nebraska. We learned about the Unicameral and visited different areas of the capitol building. After lunch we received a guided tour of the Nebraska Huskers football facilities as well as Memorial Stadium.

Leatherman, Sept. 2011
In September, our class had its annual visit from the Leatherman at Tandy Leather Company. Be sure to ask your child to see the bookmark they made out of leather and about what their favorite type of animal was. Click on the picture to the left to see more pictures from the day.
Dry Ice Science Demo - 2011
We recently had some Dry Ice in our classroom and observed many different demonstrations using it. Thanks to all the parents in all 4th grade classrooms who donated juice and punch to ensure that each and every 4th grader, teacher, and staff member at Fairview received a drink of a carbonated beverage!
